About becoming a Hoed Mystery Shopper
For various administrative and legal reasons Hoed Mystery Shopping can only accept applications for Australian and New Zealand shoppers. Before applying online please ensure that you have read all information applicable to Mystery Shopping in your country available from the Shopper Information page.
The process for applying to become a Hoed Mystery Shopper varies based on the country that you are applying for. Please make sure that you apply only once and that you apply in the correct country.
Hoed Mystery Shopping Australia
These instructions are for Australian Mystery Shopper applications only. If you wish to apply in New Zealand please see the section below.
The first step of the application process is to complete the Australian Online Application Form. The online application form consists of four short pages of questions. This information is needed to assist us in matching you with suitable assignments. You will be asked for personal contact details, including your name, address, phone numbers, etc. You will be asked to provide a list of locations that you are willing to visit to carry out Mystery Shopping work. You will need to provide the postcode, suburb, and estimated return travel distance from your home to all of these locations. You will be asked a few questions regarding the types of surveys that you are willing to carry out for various industries, and finally you will need to provide some further information about yourself including present employment arrangements so that we can determine when there may be a conflict of interest.
Once the form has been completed and submitted you will receive an e-mail asking you to confirm your application within 24 hours of lodgement. After confirming your application you will receive a second e-mail containing your employee number and password which will allow you access to Focus Online (Hoed's Online Data Entry and Assignment management system for electronic shoppers).
Hoed Mystery Shopping has IQCA accreditation which means that you will be required to read and familiarise yourself with the Mystery Shopper training manual which is available for download via Focus Online (which you will have access to after your confirmed application). You will be required to sign a declaration confirming that you have completed this task.
Before you can be paid for any work that you might carry out you will be required to furnish us with your bank account details. The appropriate form is available for download via Focus Online. You will also be required to provide us with your TFN (Tax File Number) declaration form to enable us to apply the appropriate PAYG provisions. Complete the form and submit it together with the training declaration to Hoed. You will receive an e-mail that explains this process in depth.

To apply as a Hoed Mystery Shopper in New Zealand fill out the New Zealand Online Application Form. After filling out the form you will receive an e-mail asking you to confirm your application, to confirm you need to click the link in the confirmation e-mail. After your application has been confirmed it will be e-mailed to our New Zealand office and they will contact you regarding further specifics.
